Taking a Jog...

This was my view this morning at 6:45AM...

Isn't it just amazing?  It was in the 40's and I could see my breath...Ahhhhhh

Anyway,  I set my alarm this early because I have decided, I want to run a 5K!!  lol  My husbands response was, "You're not going to run a 5K!  That's a long way!"  To which I responded "I will or die trying now!!!!"  ;)  I am using this neat app on my iPhone called C25K (Couch To 5K) and it's an 8/9 week calender, 3 days a week and a 20-30 minute session.  Warm Up, Brisk walk, 60 seconds of jogging and then 90 seconds of walking, alternating for a full 20-30 minute workout!  The next week is a longer jogging period and so on!!

I am proud to say, I completed the entire session!!!  We have a 2 miles loop through the property where we live and I walked/jogged it and then a little more- woohHoo!!  I felt SOOOO good when I finished!

My friend, Trina (who I will introduce in another blog post) has been a great support and encouragement and has even agreed to join in on my inaugural 5K.  Trina and my cousin, Jessica are going to be my supporters and my running partners- YEAH!!!

I am looking and looking for a 5K in December or January here in my area that I can run!  I think I found one too!.  It in Seneca Falls, NY on December 8th! (http://itsawonderfulrun5k.com/) Seneca Falls, NY is the hometown of the original Bedford Falls in the Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life."  How fun is that?  They have an annual Festival in honor of the movie and the 5K run is a part of it!  I think it's gonna be perfect!!

I'm stoked right now.  May need some encouragement along the way but right now, I AM HITTING IT!!!!

Making a Comeback...

It's been so long since I have sat down and typed out a blog, I'm not sure where to even begin.  I think I'll just start "shot gunning" it and hope you can follow along...:)

WE MOVED!  March 9, 2012, we loaded up all our belongings, hooked up our new travel trailer and pulled out of Lumberton, TX.  Randy, Brenda, Jessica and the twins (Steves Mom and family) came with us on this trip.  It took us until Monday to make the journey and about $1,000 in diesel but we are here!

We are finally here!!

Our first "home"- stayed here for 3 days
Finally unhooking the trailer after 4 days on the road!

After arriving in Selinsgrove, PA, we finally unhooked the trailer from the truck!  Randy said he would have to chain his truck to a light post to keep it from running off.  Having been tied to the trailer for so long it was ready to bolt-lol

Now we are here- Steve started work almost immediately.  It was a whole new atmospher and group of men to work with but he seems to really enjoy it!

We moved to our "permanent" temporary home within a few days.  It was a lovely cabin about 10 minutes from town and we had an AMAZING time while there.  It was our home for the first 50 days!

Preston started school and did so well.  I was worried that the move would be tramatic for him.  But he was a strong little cookie and just stepped right into the routine and flow of it all!  We also purchased a second vehicle, since we had sold our Equinox before the move.  The Lord led us to the PERFECT car.  It had everything that Preston and I asked for and was even the right color inside & out!  I LOVE IT!!!

Then it came time to move into our permanent house!  It was exciting and we were READY!  The movers had our stuff unloaded and setup within 1 day.  We unpacked boxes for a week prolly but it was quickly setup.  This house is about 1/3 smaller than our other home so alot of things are still in boxes in our basement.  But it felt so good to have our things around us again.

They were happy to come out of their box & be played with!

Can you see my poor Marley?

A month into the move God opened the door for me to lead the music in the church we are now calling home.  It was such a confirmation to us that not only was the move and job promotion and good thing in our natural world but that God had plans for us to work in His kingdom as well!!

Here is a few pictures of my new team practicing for their Easter cantata and then us in action at our Party In The Park this summer!

Mom, Dad, Heidi, Dean, Abbi, Barrett, Halie and Jonathan all came to visit, within a month of us being here.  We were still in the cabin so it was like a huge family vacation!  They were here for a week and we took one day to go visit Washington DC, which is about 4 hours from us.

We have made great friends, who have opened their homes, lives and secret fishing spots...;)  They have made us feel like we have been here forever and have even found hobbies that we enjoy and keep us busy (outside of work & church.)  I'm going to just attach several pictures to finish out this blog post!

My garden became my major project!  It's a first for me and it as sooo theraputic and relaxing!  I loved it!  Even was able to can some from it (pictures below)

The Beginning....

We're moving...WHAT?

Yeah, so Christmas was amazing!  Went to the Smokie Mtns. with my Harris family and had a great time!  Came home and on December 27th, Steve's application for Lieutenant , which has been submitted since September, was pulled and by January 1st, we were told they called and check his references. On January 8th, 1 week later, we were told "Congratulations Lieutenant Sherman, you have been promoted and are moving to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania!"  HOLY SMOKES....

As if the changes these last 2 months weren't enough, we are now moving 22 hours and 1,400 miles North...:D

To say we are excited would be an understatement...scared doesn't even begin to describe it!  We cant be worried though because God is ordering our steps...Every step we have taken up until this very moment has been God ordained and we are simply walking through the doors as they open.

We leave, February 1st for our 10 day house hunting trip.  Flying into Pennsylvania for the first time and visiting some churches, looking into a PO Box, new checking account, visiting the prison, looking at some houses, etc.... They have an Ice carving festival that weekend also and we are hoping to get to enjoy that!

I feel like I just did all this...hm mm

Here are a few pictures of the place we are about to call home...

We are having bittersweet moments when it comes to leaving our life here in Southeast Texas.  Family, friends, church, school, etc.  At times my heart skips when I think about the area, the snow, the idea of a new location, new home, new, New, NEW.... and with the next heartbeat I can feel it breaking because we are leaving so much behind!

Will be posting more pictures after we go there and see it for ourselves.  Continue to pray for us as we make more decisions and venture into new areas.  Pray for our boys, they are my main concern.  Want them to transition smoothly and happily!  God is good and never fails....

The Journey continues.....
